Not quite... I am sure Wizzy & Radio will do their best to revitalize eXiLe. The userpool is pretty small these days, but I don't really see a need to panic.

However - there is a need to think about a concept. Recruitments should be a first step...

Even if you got 100 members, what happens next? Nexuiz minsta clans do nothing beside of providing servers anyway..

It's up to you to decide what is next... having members is only a first step, as mentioned. I personally do not have many ideas, but then again: I'm not in this or any other clan.

Its difficult to get something organized if members don't show up to clan meetings/wars, never pay a dime for the server and in the end blame you for nothing happening. Nexuiz is for casual gamers, and do those people need clans? Minsta.net should be revived with a 1on1/2on2 ladder. That could help somehow.

Or we just play for fun on the CCC DM server, with PB maps, rainbow fbskins etc.. considering that at least 90% of all minsta players are noobs with no ambition to get better that could be the better choice Wink

Well, beside having reasons to stay outside clans, I also don't really see a point getting into a clan either, so I actually agree with your comment - but: why did you found a clan? Why do you lead it? Why does Wizzy? Obviously there is a need amongst current eXiLe-members to see a structure in it, a concept. Prophets ToT or PK do not really need that, I suppose it's fun enough for most to be in a well known clan with some cool people and an active forum (which is why I think that [CCC] *could* work out) - stuff like that fills the need to be in a group.

Members asking here wether eXiLe actually died should be taken seriously, shouldn't they?

PK has a leader afaik (Xone?). If you think ToTs anarchy is fun, why do you complain about their members at their forum? No control is cool, until it turns against you. Smile

That summarizes it pretty well I think. Though, some of us like to take further responsibility like recruiting members or being admin on the servers. And playing with friends is more fun than playing with randoms as friends usually respect each other.

Well if they show up after 3 months of inactivity right during a 24 hour downtime of our servers its bad luck.

Oh c'mon... as if the only alternative to a dictatorship would be assholes attacking others randomly - and please do not misuse the word anarchy for what Riddick and Renegade do. They do not represent the common sense in ToT at all.

I agree very much. A clan needs a concept, maybe even a leader and all that - but all this is futile when the only commitment of their members is wearing the tag.

The only sign of democracy I observed in other minsta clans are those "may XY join us?" vote polls. If someone wants to join us but a member gives a valid reason why that person shouldn't join, he won't join. We don't need bureaucracy for that.
Anarchy fails to work as soon as enough members of the society abuse their freedom. Democracy fails too as soon as too many members of the society are easy manipulable. Leading a clan with one or two fixed leaders makes things much less complicated.

By the way, Nexuiz is still a game. Why not just play it instead of keeping yourself busy with "Nexuiz politics"? From my experience with other online games I can tell you that the Nexuiz crowd is not that bad. Sure, you got some trolls but trolls are everywhere. And most of them even found each other in certain clans. Like Crunk or as much as I love them, ToT.

P.S.: Got 11.2 on my server now =)

Clans create a community. If no games had clans (which is virtually impossible, since it's natural for people to establish social hubs) then people would join a
game, play in their own noobish way (loooooooololol grenade spam), then leave. No clans = no purpose. [Assuming that people don't know each other]
Sure, eXiLe or any other Nexuiz clan isn't necessary. So why do we bother with clans?

Well, without clans, Nexuiz would be considerably worse off. Clans promote teamwork and establish connections, creating a stronger community. Without any
clans, I don't see why I'd ever want to play Nexuiz for more than half an hour on some random DM server. The whole competitive aspect (even if it's small)
would be gone. Fewer people would establish connections, and it'd be even harder for such people to stay in touch. Clans also give an analytical sense of
how the game should be played, since it encourages people to play together and discuss the game as opposed to randomly joining a server and exiting
the game for good. If Nexuiz never had any clans, would the game of gotten to the point it is at today? If so, would the game be as well established as it is?

Clans have a key role in maintaining and establishing a community of a game. Nobody has to be in a clan, but being in a clan does build a community and it
builds competition. Without either, you'd probably see everyone playing on 64 player DM servers dedicated to Fragcity just for the lulz. [Which is what
happens on games where the community is poor and very split up]

eXiLe can be revived just as well as it has 'died'. It had to be started up at one point anyway, nothing stops us from getting it back into town. Wink

P.S As far as donations go, It might be a good idea to make people more aware of them. Such as a donate button added at the top, or some message stickiest above all the forums with a donation link. Myself, I have been and still am absolutely skint of money otherwise I would of done. Neutral

Well as soon as I get enough people. I'll throw some suitable people towards these forums and at the ToT ones.

Then us 3 can all set up some clan tournament of some sort. The others can join in if they like I mean I'll offer it to them also but I'm not really holding my breath on it being accepted.

It's been neglected for far too long, all clans should work together to keep each other established thus making this game a better place. That would then be a real community working together for a greater cause.
